Naples Beaches and Parks

 Parks

There are currently 3 State Parks and over 13 county maintained parks in Collier County.  The City of Naples also contributes to the richness in it's parks. Naples also has a Zoo!

The State Parks include:

The County Parks

Collier County maintains Regional Parks, Community Parks and Neighborhood Parks.  There are also Parks along the beaches and public boatramps!

We are proud of our bike trails and recreation events!

The Zoo

Naples also offers a nationally accredited zoo and 52-acre historic botanical garden.  The only zoo in Florida where you can see all four of Africa's top predators and the rarest tigers in America.

The zoo offers a full day of entertaining activities including the Primate Expedition Cruise.

Delnor - Wiggins Pass State Park

"World's most beautiful beach" Often Reported

 "Most beautiful sunset" Often Reported

"I saw the GREENFLASH!" a SPECIAL report

A beach sunset at Delnor-Wiggins state park!

Separated from the mainland by mangrove swamps and tidal creeks, this recreation area is a narrow barrier island on Florida's southwest coast. A pass on the north end of the island is a natural outlet for the Cocohatchee River.

Collier-Seminole State Park

The Visitor Center in the Everglades.

On any given day you might see a manatee, bald eagle, black bear or bobcat.

The park is also rich in history. A battle during the Third Seminole War between the Seminole Tribe and U.S. soldiers was fought near the park.

Fakahatchee Strand Preserve

In places, limestone has dissolved, forming elongated sloughs or channels which have accumulated deep organic soils.

These channels or sloughs have been colonized by cypress and other trees, creating swamp forests that stand out on the horizon in contrast to the open prairies and pinelands that occupy the sterile veneer of marl soil which is on top of the remaining limestone. The local term for these linear swamps is "strand."
